If you read one thing
You can read every page without giving us anything. We keep your email only if you join a list, after you confirm it. The games keep a nickname and a coded visitor number, never your email or IP address. The contact form keeps what you send to answer you. The chat has its own notice, below. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.

01Who is responsible
Atheron Network Inc. is responsible for the personal information this website collects. Our details are at the foot of every page. Questions or requests: privacy@aton-network.org.
02Reading the site
Reading the site needs nothing from you. Cloudflare, which carries the site's traffic, processes your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site safe. Our server keeps short technical logs, without anything you typed.
The site uses no advertising or tracking. We use cookie-free performance and error monitoring (Amazon CloudWatch) to keep the sites fast and working. On about one visit in five, it records how long pages take to load, errors on the page, the page address (never the part after a ?), and your browser, device type and approximate country. It doesn't record who you are, and no cookies are set.
03Lists and waitlists
When you join the Kestrel API waitlist, the desktop app waitlist or the alerts list, we keep your email address, the list, the language of the page, the page you joined from and when. We send one email with a confirmation link first; nothing else is sent until you confirm. If you do not confirm within 30 days, the address is deleted.
We keep a record of each consent and unsubscribe, as Canada's anti-spam law requires. When you leave a list, we stop sending to it at once and keep only a one-way code of your address so the unsubscribe holds.
Emails are sent by Resend, which handles your address only to deliver them.
04The games
Kestrel vs the crowd and the vote keep your calls and votes with a nickname you choose and a coded visitor number. The number comes from a random code in a cookie on this site, turned into a one-way code on our server; it does not hold your email, your IP address or your name, and it cannot be linked to you without the cookie. Calls, votes and nicknames are kept for 400 days, then deleted.
Checks that you are a person are done by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process your IP address and details about your browser for that purpose only.
05The contact form
When you write to us, we keep your name, email, company if you give one, your message, its topic, the page and the language. Sales, partnership and press messages go to our sales records; help questions go to our support inbox. We use them only to answer you and keep them as long as needed to do so, after which they are deleted on our schedule.
06The chat
The chat on this site runs on ATON Desk, our own live chat. What it keeps and for how long is in the chat notice at the end of this page.
07Where it is kept
Our servers and database are with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Canada, in its Montreal region (ca-central-1). Backup copies are kept in Canada too, in AWS's Calgary region. Two parts run outside Canada, and neither holds customer data: we collect public market data (the prices and trades exchanges publish) in the United States (Virginia) and the United Kingdom (London), and our test systems run in the United States. Cloudflare and Resend may process information outside Canada, under their own safeguards.
08Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and to withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Write to privacy@aton-network.org. To delete your game records, clear this site's cookie first so a new visitor number is used, then ask us. You can also complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or of British Columbia.
The site is not meant for people under 16.
09Changes
We publish each change as a new version with its date, and earlier versions stay readable on this page.
Privacy in ATON Desk chats
ATON Desk is the live chat on the websites of the businesses that use it. When you chat with one of them, that business decides what happens to your conversation and is responsible for it. ATON Desk, run by Atheron Network Inc., holds and processes it on their behalf and only to provide the chat.
What is kept
Your messages, the files you share, the name and email address you give, and the answers to the business's questions before the chat starts.
If you are signed in to the business's own website or app, the name and email address it has for you, which it sends to the chat so you do not have to type them.
The page you were on when you started the chat, without anything after a question mark, the page that sent you there, and your browser in broad terms such as "Chrome on Windows, desktop". These details of your visit are deleted after 90 days.
Your approximate location (country, region, city and time zone), from Cloudflare, which carries the chat's traffic. Your IP address itself is not stored with your conversation. To stop floods of messages, the chat counts requests by a one-way code made from the address, and those counts are deleted within a day.
How long it is kept
Conversations and messages left offline are kept for two years after the last message unless the business sets a shorter time, as short as 30 days; a business on a paid plan can choose up to three years. Files are deleted with their conversation, and so is everything the assistant wrote in it.
A business can hold a particular conversation longer when it is evidence for an order, a dispute or a signed project, until a date it must choose, and never more than seven years.
A message left offline that nobody has handled is closed after 90 days.
Your browser
The chat keeps a random code in your browser's storage for this website, so it can show you your own conversations when you come back. It is not used to follow you anywhere else. Clearing this website's data in your browser removes it, and the chat then starts again as new. Some websites also tell the chat to forget the code when you sign out of them.
Emails
When a chat ends, the business can send you a copy of it by email, and it answers messages left offline by email. These are sent only to an address that is proved to be yours: one the business's own sign-in vouched for, or one you confirmed with a six-digit code we email you. The code email contains none of what you wrote.
Links to files in an emailed copy work for 24 hours; the files stay in the conversation, where you can open them again.
Emails are delivered by Resend, which handles them only to deliver them.
The assistant
Where a business turns on the ATON Desk assistant, your messages in that chat are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude models write the assistant's answers. Anthropic handles them only to answer and does not use them to train its models. A person from the business can take over at any time.
Who sees it
The business's team members who answer the queue your chat is in. ATON Desk's own staff see a conversation only when the business asks for help with it or to keep the service safe and running. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what a business holds about you, ask that business; it can do so from its ATON Desk console. If you hold an Atheron account, asking Atheron to delete it deletes what ATON Desk holds about you in every business's chat as well, except a conversation a business is holding as evidence, which keeps the words but loses your name, address and visit details.
ATON Desk is not meant for children under 16.
